Case Study 01 — Fintech Organisation, KL

Corporate Cohort, Seven Engineers

Challenge

The team's ML engineers were writing models that performed well in development but experienced significant latency increases once deployed to production infrastructure. No one on the team had a systematic way to investigate where the bottleneck was — whether in data movement, compute scheduling, or model design.

Solution

cindras ran a custom Corporate Cohort covering hardware profiling methods, memory bandwidth analysis, and engineering patterns for production-grade ML. The programme was scoped specifically around deployment scenarios the team was working with. Sessions ran over four weeks at the organisation's office.

Outcome

Engineers developed a shared framework for diagnosing performance issues before and after deployment. The team reported a more structured investigation process for new model deployments. The reference handbook was later adopted into the team's internal onboarding documentation for new ML hires.

Case Study 02 — Independent Developer, Penang

Applied Engineering Track, Individual Enrolment

Starting Point

A freelance developer with two years of ML framework experience, primarily working on computer vision projects. Had completed the Foundations Programme six months earlier and wanted to build applied engineering depth before taking on larger client projects involving edge deployment.

Approach

Enrolled in the Applied Engineering Track. Worked through project labs involving representative model engineering scenarios with hardware constraints. Used instructor support at several points during the project lab work where the dataset behaviour did not match initial expectations.

Result

Completed the track and subsequently took on a client project involving embedded ML components — something he had not previously felt equipped to scope accurately. The project documentation from the labs served as a reference during that engagement. Returned for a second track run three months later.
